The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series welcomed the Budweiser Duels to primetime this year as the two races determined the starting lineup for Sunday’s Daytona 500.

Austin Dillon and Martin Truex, Jr. have already earned spots on the front row for the 56th running of The Great American Race via their qualifying efforts earlier in the week, but the rest of the field has no idea where they will start until after both Duels are complete. Some drivers may have to pack their haulers and head home after.

Redemption was the word to describe the winner of the first duel. Matt Kenseth had a rough week of multiple crashes, only to come back and win Thursday night’s first Duel race, in a photo finish with Kevin Harvick and Kasey Kahne.  Read the rest of this entry »

OJ Mayo

You can just file this one under “OJ Mayo just doesn’t give a $h_t”. Who ties their shoe while on defense? Well apparently OJ Mayo of the Denver Nuggets does. Check out this knucklehead move after the jump.

At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada beat Team USA in overtime to capture the gold medal Men’s Olympic ice hockey.  And We haven’t forgotten.  While tomorrow’s game at 12pm ET won’t be for the gold medal, it would be huge for USA hockey if they could defeat their two biggest rivals in the same Olympic games, on the way to the gold medal game.

Jamie Winterstern directed a fantastic minute long video to let Canada know that even though hockey is their national sport, they better be ready tomorrow when Team USA comes knocking at the door.

TSB Logo Small

Last night’s show was in question all the way up until about 8:50 pm due to being hit with a cyber attack. Luckily they got the site back up in time for TSB Radio at 9 pm.  With Kevin going on his hiatus, Matt (@Dailystache) made a very successful debut.  It was a great show and we talked about the USA Men’s hockey team defeating the Czech Rep., NBA Trade Deadline, MLB, and more.  Special thanks to our regular callers Eddie (@xTomatoez), David (@Graves9), and James (@MidnightBashem), who did a great job.

I liked this show before anyone else but now it sucks

The hipster mantra is to like things before anyone likes them, then vehemently despise them shortly after they’ve become “mainstream”.  This is exactly what’s happened with The Walking Dead TV series, and I’m not just talking about the sentiment of TSB’s resident recapper Hasib.  The dislike for AMC’s most popular series is spreading faster than a penny-farthing biker gang in Brooklyn.    Read the rest of this entry »

she can probably lift more than you doing this.

she can probably lift more than you doing this.

Interesting exercise name, interesting movement. As a PT, this exercise is not exactly the most functional exercise I have ever seen or performed – because how often will you ever hold a heavy weight over your face while laying down and then get up? Maybe cavemen had to choke hold a sabertooth tiger because they were getting attacked while they were asleep. Not.

After spending a long weekend (obviously not enough time) perusing the internets (specifically PubMed), There isn’t a lot of literature including this exercise. The implications that follow this exercise include core strength and stability, and not to mention, it’s a cool party trick if you can Turkish get-up a small woman… that’d be pretty cool, actually.

Kate Upton

Take arguably the hottest woman in the world, put her in a zero gravity environment wearing a bikini, and do a photo shoot.  Brilliant.  Pure genius.  Check out the photo shoot video, a GIF, and a gallery of the photos from this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition after the jump:  Read the rest of this entry »

Is Robinson Cano a Lazy Player?

February 18, 2014 by

(PHOTO: Kim Klement/USA TODAY Sports)

Robinson Cano is well known for his smooth swing and the way he makes the game look so easy. The way he makes the game look easy appears to many to just be lazy behavior. One person that believes Cano could have shown more hustle is New York Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long.

Stache Radio Logo
Last night was the debut of Stache Radio on the TSB Radio network. The 100% New York Mets radio show hosted by Earl (@EarlTSB), Matt (@DailyStache), Jon (@JonPresser), and Kevin (@Fromheretoli), went off without a hitch and had great live listener numbers. The first guest on Stache Radio was Jason Parks (@ProfessorParks) of Baseball Prospectus, to discuss the state of the Mets minor league system.

Take a listen to the archived show and let us know what you think. You can follow Stache Radio on twitter at @StacheRadio.
