MuellerMessiGermanyvsArgentina

Yesterday we witnessed Thomas Müller and Germany absolutely destroy 2014 World Cup host Brazil in their semifinal matchup 7-1.  For Lionel Messi and Argentina, it took a scoreless 120 minutes and penalty kicks to surpass the Netherlands on their way to the final.  Having personally seen Germany play live vs the United States and having watched just about every single game of this World Cup, I feel obligated to provide you with some insight into Sunday’s World Cup Final match. Fat Ray Felton

According to ESPN, the Dallas Mavericks recently acquired fat slob point guard, Raymond Felton, claims he can “still play as an elite point guard at this level.”  I was amazed to read the entire article and find no mention of competitive eating.  Has Felton lost his mind? Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” has been number 1 on the pop charts for six weeks, the longest reign for any hit by a female rapper. So it was probably inevitable that Jimmy Fallon would spoof it on The Tonight Show.

Sandy shoulda known!

Hey, remember that mostly awful movie “Euro Trip” when Matt Damon makes a ridiculous cameo singing the song “Scotty didn’t know”? Yeah, me neither.  But Matt Damon is back singing a new song for Mets fans who thought that Sandy Alderson was some kind of wizard with the power to predict the future. The song is of course titled “Sandy Shoulda Known!”

DraftServ

Self serve beer stations called “Draft Serv”, have now been set up at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins,  for the upcoming MLB All-Star Game next week. The stations will have various beers (Bud and Bud Light will cost 38 cents per ounce, while Shock Top Lemon Shandy and Goose Island 312 Urban Pale Ale will cost 40 cents per ounce), but all apparently will be Anhehuser-Busch Brands.

As you know, we love craft beers here at TSB. So why not have a Draft Serv with a few of our favorite craft brews?

In the second episode of “The Leftovers”, we delve deeper into the psyches of the Garveys and we also are introduced to a new character. However, even though this episode was stronger than the pilot in terms of structure, the slow burn is starting to get to me. Normally, this wouldn’t bother me but none of the lead actors on the show have been strong enough to carry the show so far so I feel like I’m waiting for the story to kick in. Will something happen already? Can I get a pack of wild dogs to start attacking community members? Can I have a round two of the vanishing? Can the Guilty Remnant go Rambo or do something besides chain smoking themselves to Bolivia and trying to turn Liv Tyler into a mute elf? CAN WE GET A BAGEL MACHINE THAT WORKS?!?!
