I used to live under this bridge…

The latest installment to the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (and you have to type that it all capital letters or you don’t mean it), “Ant-Man” hit theaters last week and on Tuesday afternoon I got to view it. The guy sitting next to me at the theater fell asleep but that probably had nothing to do with the movie. Spoilers ahead….kind of.

This scene might have saved the movie.

I’m a little late to this party, plus I saw the film last week but I feel a review is necessary.  I wasn’t really a fan of any of the first “Jurassic Park” movies. I suppose the first one is OK, helped by the fact that the greatest actor of all time Jeff Goldblum (See above) is in it.  Now we come to this movie which seems to live by the notion of “Hey, remember that terrible idea we had one time? Well let’s do it again but even bigger!”.  This movie also should have been called “Increasingly Bad Decisions By Corporate America”.

This is only a third of the characters who appear in this film.

This is only a third of the characters who appear in this film.

I was doing comic book movie reviews on here for a while but started slacking off after seeing “X-Men: Days Of Future Past”.  I only recently caught up on the rest of 2014 by watching “Guardians Of The Galaxy” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”.  Quick review: One was awesome, one was an abomination.  Last night though, I got to see “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” at a sold out theater on Long Island.   Full disclosure, I saw the first Avengers movie at a midnight showing with a bunch of nerds (No offense) and kind of hated it.  I have since watched it again on TV and hated it less tough.   Read the rest of this entry »

What it feels like to be a New York Mets fan

What it feels like to be a New York Mets fan

The New York Mets and The Walking Dead are synonymous is so many ways. The jokes could go on and on for days, but that’s not what this post is about.

It’s no secret that The Walking Dead is TSB’s favorite TV show. Hook and I have done numerous recaps, “Dead Yourself” articles, and talked about it on TSB Radio. But now that the Mets season is over and some of us still have the team on our mind, I got thinking. Who are the Mets counterparts on The Walking Dead?

Eli and Peyton Manning are at it again, appearing in a rap video for DirectTV’s new Fantasy Football channel.

Remember when Eli and Peyton manning did a parody rap commercial for DirectTV last year? It was one of the best things about the preseason of 2013. They somehow topped it with this year’s DirectTV commercial campaign for their fantasy football channel campaign. Why are you still reading this? Watch the video after the jump! sharknado

Last summer, twitter was taken over by Sharknado-mania….a movie starring Ian Ziering that aired on the SyFy channel. It was about….well, you can take a wild guess. If you can’t….what the hell is wrong with you? It was about tornadoes sucking up sharks from the ocean and thus making them “twisters with teeth” that rampaged California. Well, SyFy had a brilliant idea for the sequel. Why not bring Sharknadoes to the city that never sleeps? Read the rest of this entry »

Unless you lived in a cardboard box, you know what “50 Shades of Grey” is. If you are a woman, you are extremely excited….probably in your lady parts. If you are a human heterosexual male, you are angry that this is a thing. If you lived inside of a cardboard box, I’m surprised that that actually worked in preventing you from hearing about this abomination. I’m also wondering if cardboard boxes are rent controlled in NYC? How does one go about acquiring one of these things? Simply for the purposes of avoiding “50 Shades of Grey” hype. I mean, even Queen Beyonce of the Bey hive has decided to prop up the trailer on her instagram. So naturally, all the womens are being worked up into a frenzy. If you have interest in the trailer, peep after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
