The 2013/2014 Mets plans, by #MetsTwitterGM @hey_its_don

Written and edited by @fromheretoLI, because Don is a moron (I do not agree with anything written in this)

As General Manager of the New York Mets, there are many moves necessary to become a playoff contender while also staying within a reasonable and realistic payroll range. First and foremost, the Mets need a leadoff hitter and a shortstop. Clearly, my suggestion here would be to bring back my favorite Met and sparkplug, Jose Reyes. By trading Wilmer Flores and Rafael Montero and having the Toronto Blue Jays eat $50 million, #7 can and will be back in Queens.

Ryan Newman maybe the odd man out at Stewart-Haas Racing, but that didn’t stop him from winning the Brickyard 500 from famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Newman said. “It will take a week or so for this to set in.”

Newman, a native of South Bend and Purdue graduate, captured his first victory of the 2013 season by beating Jimmie Johnson.

David Wilson, Andre Brown, New York Giants

David Wilson and Andre Brown

The New York Giants opened up training camp this weekend with most of the starting jobs already locked up. The one position that is still up grabs is running back, and Andre Brown and David Wilson are the two players fighting for it.

Last year, David Wilson burst onto the scene as an excellent kick returner, and only really contributed to the running game late in the season. Wilson is lightning fast and has shown the ability to break off a huge gain at any given moment.

Andre Brown was the surprise of the season for the Giants last year, rushing for 8 touchdowns in 10 games before breaking his leg. Brown was great in short yardage/goal line situations, an area that the Giants had struggled in the past few years.

David-OrtizDavid Ortiz isn’t the most composed guy on the Boston Red Sox roster. He dropped an expletive during a national broadcast after the Boston Bombing and faced no fine for it. However, on Saturday night in Baltimore, Ortiz went HAM on the dugout phone.

Ortiz went INSANE after being ejected in the top of the seventh inning by the home plate umpire for arguing balls and strikes.

Ortiz thought he earned his third walk of the game, as the Red Sox led 7-2, but the home plate umpire thought differently. Ortiz struck out and had a few choice words for the ump after the sequence.

I’m usually not one to get excited over little kids playing football, but this hit was special.

If not for Jadeveon Clowney’s monster hit in January, this could have been the hit of the year.

I don’t have the words to describe this hit, you just need to see this video for yourself.

“Will you marry me?” may be the hardest question a man ever asks in his life, and asking it live on a big New York City radio show takes some guts.

Moe in New Jersey called into the Mike Francesa radio show earlier today, and was ready to pop the question to his girlfriend on-air.

Francesa wasn’t having any of it though.

Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees are like an old married couple that has grown to hate each other and wants a divorce, but are being forced to stay together for the sake of the kids.

That’s how bad this situation has gotten between the two sides. It’s clear the Rodriguez and his camp hate the Yankees, and the Yankees are showing that they don’t want anything to do with Rodriguez.

Let’s start from the beginning. A-Rod tweeted out that he was ready to start playing in rehab games again, and Yankees GM Brian Cashman told him to, “Shut the f*#k up.”

Ryan Braun Liar

Ryan Braun has been lying to our faces for the past 2+ years.  We now know that he is a cheat who should pack up that MVP award and ship it to its rightful owner, Matt Kemp.  Personally, I don’t hate on any athlete who gets caught cheating, mans up, and comes clean.  But liars?  People who look directly into the camera and proclaim their innocence time and time again, and only come clean when they’re caught dead to rights?  They go directly on my shit-list, and it’s damn near impossible to come off it.

Along with Ryan Fraud Braun, here’s a list of the biggest liars in the history of sports, in no particular order: Read the rest of this entry »

MTV Challenge Marlon reacts to Knight's distasteful joke

Usually when an episode of The Challenge starts, it takes a few minutes or even a commercial break, to get into the first conflict of the night. But tonight’s episode didn’t even bother waiting. Derek just comes out and tells everyone that Marlon is bisexual. Just like that. Derek confirms that they hooked up under the bridge on the side of the house.
