WWE TABLES, LADDERS and CHAIRS Predictions

WWE is presenting their final PPV of the year, Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. This year’s edition will emanate from the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York this Sunday, December 16, 2012. Here are my predictions…

Pre-Show “Santa’s Helper” No. 1 Contender’s Diva Battle Royal

WWE’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view will kick with the ladies. The pre-show will stream live on wwe.com, youtube.com/wwe and facebook.com/wwe starting 4:30pm (PT)/ 7:30pm (ET). Among the Divas gunning for Eve’s title are former champions Alicia Fox, Layla and Natalya, as well as Kaitlyn, Tamina Snuka, Rosa Mendes, Aksana, Cameron and Naomi. The Diva’s division has been missing top-notch star power for quite some time. Long gone are the days of Lita and Trish Stratus, which leaves me asking many questions. It all boils down to who’s going to step up and make the division relevant again. Looking at the female talent on the roster there’s only two names that come to mind, AJ Lee and Natalya. Lee has elevated herself through the ranks with her great work behind the mic and is currently involved in an ongoing romance with John Cena. That leaves Natalya, which I have felt has been underutilized for most of her career in the WWE. The wrestling background that Natalya processes warrants much more than playing back up dancer to The Great Khali and Hornswoggle. My heart says to pick Natalya, but my head tells me otherwise. Natayla will continue job just like her good friend Beth Phoenix. I have to believe Phoenix is much happier at home enjoying the company of her boyfriend Edge (Adam Copeland). So, I’m going to with Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was on course with to run a program with Eve, but had been delayed several times. Look for their feud to gain new life in the weeks to come.

Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. Team Rhodes Scholars

This match has the potential to be one the best matches on the card. Both teams have found many successes over the past couple of months. The high-flying attack of Mysterio and Sin Cara will present many challenges for Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow. There is sure to be many entertaining spots from start to finish. In the end the ground game Team Rhodes Scholars will prevail and move on to challenge Team Hell No for the tag team titles.

Winner: Team Rhodes Scholars

U.S. Champions Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth

Cesaro, will continue to build on his impressive resume by defeating R-Truth once again. This match is a rematch of last month bout from Survivor Series. R-Truth, a former U.S. Champion has provided Cesaro with some much need competition over the past couple of months. Initially, I wanted to give R-Truth the benefit of the doubt, but was left wondering how much credibility “Little Jimmy” could bring to the show moving forward. Although Truth is solid in ring performer and has improved his mic skills, I still see him as a source of comic relief.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Wade Barrett

This match without a doubt is a statement match. Since returning from injury Wade Barrett has been impressive. Much of the same can be said for Kingston since winning recapturing the IC Title. To continue to validate Barrett’s push the title must change hands. Let’s face it; Barrett and U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro have most to prove come Sunday in regards to how they are perceived moving forward by the front office. It will be interesting to see who emerges from the mid-card ranks over the next couple of years to become main event status. I could see Barrett doing just that.

World Heavyweight Champion Big Show vs. Sheamus (Chairs Match)

Inconsistent is a word that I frequently use when referring to Big Show. He’s been used as the cute cuddly teddy bear and as the five hundred pound monster. Creative has killed any believe ability to a mean streak by the switch too often made throughout Big Show’s career in the WWE. Big Show doesn’t help ratings either in regards to his main event status. Sheamus night in night out puts on a great performance and Sunday night won’t be any different. I don’t see him winning the title back at TLC, but I do like his chances down the road. I foresee Randy Orton turning heel in the new year, which will set up a feud with Sheamus leading up to a possible World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania 29. Show’s win will be short-lived as Dolph Ziggler will steal the show by capitalizing on a given opportunity.

Winner: Big Show (Dolph Ziggler cashes in his Money in the Bank contract to become the new World Heavyweight Champion)

John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler (Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank contract)

The spotlight will be on Ziggler. A Ladder Match will be the perfect opportunity to “Show off” his abilities. For about a year, the WWE has gone back and forth whether or not to put the belt on Ziggler. John Cena is the perfect opponent to help put Ziggler over. I think eventually, The Rock will defeat CM Punk at the Royal Rumble in January, thus leading to The Rock vs. Cena 2 at Wrestlemania. Where does that leave Ryback?
