Last season, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd caught 74 passes for more than 900 yards with the New England Patriots, but was released this offseason to help save the team roughly $3 million dollars.

Lloyd has the reputation of being a tough guy to get along with in the locker room, but he is best known for being a very productive receiver, even at the age of 32.
Looking around the NFL, a few teams have some serious questions at the wide receiver position as training camp is approaching rapidly.

Here are a few teams that would be a great fit for Lloyd.
New York Jets

Unless the Jets can find some offensive weapons, it won’t matter who is starting for them at quarterback this year. Santonio Holmes is coming back from a season ending injury last year, so who knows how he’ll perform early on. The rest of the Jets receiving core is a joke, and Lloyd would instantly be a major upgrade over anyone on their roster. The Jets need help at the receiver position, and Lloyd is the best available one out there.
Carolina Panthers
A young QB can’t have too many weapons, and Cam Newton could desperately use another receiver to line up on the opposite side of the field as Steve Smith. Newton loves to throw the deep ball, and Lloyd could help take some double teams away from Steve Smith. In his first two years in the league, Newton has never had a true secondary receiver, and that’s exactly what Lloyd could be.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are one injury to Torrey Smith away from having the weakest receiving core in the league. Joe Flacco just signed a major contract extension, but who is he supposed to throw the ball to right now? Tandon Doss and David Reed are slotted to get a lot of reps right now, and they aren’t nearly as good as Lloyd.
