Hey guys! So this is my first post with Total Sports Blog (thanks for the invite, Earl!) and I’ll be bringing you my craft beer recommendations for your football Sundays. I’m sure many of you are sticking to the “standards” such as Bud, Miller, Coors, maybe some Sam Adams, and that is absolutely okay; craft beer is a “build-up” experience. I myself was weary at first but once I started purchasing and supporting local and smaller breweries, I started to see the difference in taste and quality.
Seeing as this is my first go at it, I’ll keep it short and sweet with one beer recommendation: Breckenridge Autumn Ale.

This beer is EXCELLENT. Brewed in Colorado by Breckenridge Brewery, their Autumn Ale is German flavor meeting the usually crispness of an American ale. Don’t be surprised: this beer pours DARK. Most fall beers are a light, nutty brown. The Breckenridge Autumn Ale is almost black like a winter beer but still retains that warm, nutty, chocolate, caramel flavor.
Breckenridge Autumn Ale has a 6.7% ABV so a few of them will make you feel real nice. I had a few last night right after some coal oven pizza and wish I was able to go back in time and have them together. I’m sure some meatball or sausage pizza with this beer would be a perfect pairing.
