You learn something new every week on MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals 2. Mortuusequusphobia is the unusual fear of ketchup or condiments.

It seems as if every week in the first two minutes, we learn of a new romance that is brewing in the house. This week’s contestants: Jordan and Jonna. I gotta tell you, the women of the house have the thirst for Jordan. First Sarah and now Jonna. And where else would this attraction start? The club! Jordan and Jonna are the first to score points this week with their smooching at the club. But, we soon learn that they aren’t the only potential lovebirds in the house.
To be honest, I would never have thought that Leroy and Jemmye would ever be an item. Although nothing has happened yet between these two yet, Leroy has openly admitted that he wants to get it in with Jemmye and she seems to be on the same wavelength. We’ll get back to these two a little later.
Coming back from the club, the girls are all getting out of their club clothes when Jemmye decides to let Nany know that Diem was freestylin’ a bit about her at the club. And it wasn’t exactly about how good of a competitor she is. When confronted about this by Nany, Diem kinda backtracks as Jemmye continues to throw her further and further under the bus. The next morning, Leroy and Johnny have a little fun with the “rap” and write their own aggressive rap about Nany that she is none too pleased with. But when she finds the paper with the rap written on it, she simply rips it up and nothing else is said about it. I’m going to have to go back and get the lyrics, but it was pretty hysterical. Leroy and Johnny will get some points for that.

Onto the elimination challenge. ”Stumped” was probably one of the more difficult challenges I have seen. There was a giant bamboo maze with two entrances and two exits for two teams to try to get through as fast as they could. The slowest girls team would be sent to jungle this week. But of course, there was a twist. The teams would be strapped to a 25 foot long bamboo pole that they had to carry through the maze as well. All throughout the competition, teams were getting the pole stuck between other poles, players getting bent like pretzels, and some just physically breaking down. To be honest, it was pretty damn boring. The only thing I was really interested in seeing was if Paula and Emily could continue their dominance and win their fourth straight challenge in as many tries. And they did. As for the guys, the rookies did it again. Jordan and Marlon continue to show the rest of the house that they are a force to be reckoned with. So, who were losers this week? None other than Preston and Knight for the guys and Theresa and Jasmine for the girls. That means Theresa and Jasmine are automatically inserted into The Jungle.
When it came time for the guys to vote in the team to face Theresa and Jasmine in The Jungle, it was a fairly unanimous selection in favor of Cooke and Cara Maria. I have a feeling Cooke and Cara Maria will get voted in every week until they are eliminated. As well as finding out who the team to face Theresa and Jasmine in The Jungle was, we had our first “You Killed It”, by TJ. It was directed to Emily and Paula as he was congratulating them for winning another challenge.

So with this new possible romance between Jemmye and Leroy, Knight naturally winds up in the middle of it. To me, it actually seemed like Knight was willing to stay out of it, until wasted Jemmye needed to drag him into it. So as Jemmye gets more wasted, she decides to pull Cooke’s bikini bottom off and she actually didn’t seem to mind. After it came off, Knight gave her bare ass a good slap and so did Jemmye, followed by a full frontal view for the camera. Well played Cooke, well played. But somehow this escalated quickly into Jemmye going batshit crazy at Knight. She hits him in the face with a soda can and throws a trashcan at him. Chick went over the deep end in a hurry. But Knight did get her good. After getting hit with the soda, he grabs a bottle of ketchup and douses her with it. Jemmye suffers from Mortuusequusphobia – the unusual fear of ketchup or condiments. Go ahead, laugh your ass off. Cause I sure as hell did. She freaked the hell out, and needed a straight jacket. Check out the incident here.
Everyone makes their way to The Jungle. TJ said at the beginning of the season that there would be some surprises. He wasn’t lying. As they make their way to the arena, the looks on their faces tell it all. Jaws drop and eyeballs pop and they see what is in the center of the arena. Two giant metal gurneys sit in the middle with about eight car batteries and jumper cables attached to them. “Welcome to Who Can Take It?”, TJ says. As TJ is reading off the rules of the game, everyone is in complete shock. In a best of 3 series, one member of each team is going to be strapped to the gurney and see how long they can last with the electric current running through their body. First person to tap out loses. The camera cuts to one of the comments made by CT and it’s easily the line of the show so far. “Somebody’s gonna die tonight!”.
Wrong CT, no one is going to die…OR GO HOME! TJ pulls a major SIKE, and announces that no team will be sent home this week! He reiterates again, “I told you there will be some surprises”.
