The 2014 Major League Baseball season is still months away, but it’s never too early for some bold predictions.

My bold predictions for the 2013 season were way off, but 2014 is a new year so let’s try again. 14 is my favorite number, so naturally, 2014 is the year I’m going to get some of these right.
With that being said, here are 3 way to early bold predictions for the 2014 MLB season.

1. Masahiro Tanaka Wins The Cy Young
I don’t care what team Masahiro Tanaka signs with. This guy is winning the Cy Young award. Have you seen his numbers in the Japanese League? They’re absolutely ridiculous. The last pitcher to put up those kind of numbers over there was Yu Darvish and he’s panned out pretty well, so look for Tanaka to step right into the MLB and dominate. Whether it is the Yankees or the Mariners or whatever team gets this guy, he’s winning the Cy Young.

2. Bryce Harper Hits For Triple Crown
Bryce Harper has shown flashes of brilliance over his short MLB career, but he hasn’t been able to put it together for long stretches at a time yet. That will all change in 2014 when he absolutely destroys National League pitching and lights up the stat sheets. Most of the best hitters in the league play in the American League, and it’s hard to see anyone else in the NL being able to hit for the triple crown. If anyone is going to do it, it’s Bryce Harper, and the Nationals will win the NL East behind his big bat.
3. Texas Rangers Will Win The World Series
I’m going out on a limb here with this one, but the stars seem to be aligning for the Rangers this season. The addition of Prince Fielder will make this offense even more explosive and while the Rangers’ pitching staff isn’t great, it’s definitely good enough to contend. Texas seems to have the right fix of young talent, experienced veterans and productive role plays to hoist the World Series Trophy next November.
