World Series Trophy

Although the new MLB season is just days away, it will be months before we get to the World Series stage, as teams have to compete in their AL and NL Divisions (East, West and Central), as well as for the AL or NL pennant first. However that does not stop people beginning to speculate and bet on which teams have a realistic chance of winning the World Series this season – and for this reason it can be helpful to know who the pre-season favorites are. In tradition of the holiday season, I’m in the mood for giving. All season I have provided picks and insight for the BCS games and have neglected the lesser known and/or lesser successful schools of college football. That’s about to change. Since we’re going to have the next month full of bowl games before the ‘real’ matchups are played, I figured I’d give a quick take on the bowl games most people have never even heard of. Stay tuned for the BCS!

JP’s NFL Picks Against the Spread

TotalSportsBlog.com has a new layout and looks amazing.  I decided to start fresh and change-up my article and style of picking a little bit. I was currently 17-7-1 on my locks and exactly .500 on the year so far.  Its crunch time in the NFL and now is when you start to see the serious football unfold.

  • The CAPITAL team is the home team.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It’s time to celebrate one of America’s greatest holidays.  Here at TSB, Hook and I have a few things that we would like to share with you that we are thankful for on this wonderful day. Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Thanksgiving, ya’ll! Though this holiday may be all about the NFL and eating and drinking as much as humanly possible and then some, there are some great collegiate football games this weekend for rivalry week. Following a 20-3 week, I went 16-5 with my picks last week as big upsets occurred, most notably against K-State and Oregon. The rankings made a huge shift. Notre Dame is the new No. 1 and Nick Saban is just as surprised as we all are that Alabama is back in the hunt.

Alright Family, Friends and Fans this is going to be a crazy week in football, as the public looks to bet one way, but our film study here at TSB yet again has us going against the grain in the majority of the games.  This week I am hooking you up with 5 **LOCKS** and also 5 UPSET ALERTS!!!  I am feeling confident this week as I was able to put extra study into my picks.  Hence why my picks are being published so late this week and I apologize for that.

After going 20-3 this past week, its safe to say you should start hearing me out and take my picks to Vegas. The three games I lost, Toledo losing to Ball State (irrelevant MAC game that no one cared about), Alabama falling to Texas A&M (not many people saw that one coming), and Louisville falling to Syracuse (literally no one saw that coming).  There’s a new No. 1 in all of the land, Kansas State. Alabama now needs some serious upsets to happen to get their ticket punched for the big game, but for now, it looks like they’ll be watching it from home. It’s a three-team race to the finish—Wildcats, Ducks, and the Fighting Irish. This week has a lot of teams that will have easy wins against relatively unknown universities—if you can even call them universities. Read the rest of this entry »

Lo siento, amigos.  I was in Mexico last week and Earl had to fill in for me.  He put a picture of T-Dogg up, probably because he forgot to write his Walking Dead recap and felt that would make up for it (his picks were solid, so I’ll give him a pass).  The reason we put Breaking Bad picks up every week is because the currency we bet in is Heisenbergs, not dollars.    Check out my NFL Week 11 picks: Read the rest of this entry »
