0-162 bro!

0-162 bro!

Let me start by saying ahahahahahaahahahahahahaha! Ok, now that that is out of my system…the Mets lost for a rare time on Opening Day today by a score of 9-7.  As per usual the only thing more embarrassing than the Mets play today was the reaction of some of the fans.  I think the problem here is that we have become accustom to the team winning every Opening Day and starting off the season on a high note so when they lose the first game of the season we immediately expect the team to challenge the 1962 Mets record for futility.  Now, everyone take a deep breath and repeat after me “Opening Day, means nothing.”

Suckers!

Suckers!

The other day Mets GM Sandy Alderson made the claim that the team could possibly win 90 games this season. This statement was of course met with ridicule, freaking out, panic, and a couple of protests.  This comment caused so much of a stir that local radio mongo wrangler Mike Francesa literally spent an entire day talking about it.  Things must be really slow on the New York sports scene.

The Dawk Knight Of Boston!

The Dawk Knight Of Boston!

As a comic book fan and more importantly a Batman fan I am so annoyed that Zack Snyder (Master of pointless slow motion shots), after making a barely watchable Superman movie decided to add Batman into the sequel.  And no, my problem is not that Ben Affleck is playing Batman because I think he’s great outside of “Gigli” and his entire awkward relationship with Jennifer Lopez.  My problem is that DC Comics and Warner Brothers have no idea how to make comic book movies. They are lucky that they own the rights to greatest character of all time in Batman and even some of his movies have been abortions.

This is part four of four of my squat series, which has delved into performance, benefits, and types of squats. Click HERE for part 1 (form/performance/cues), HERE for part 2 (front versus back squats), HERE for part 3 (jump squatting).

You may call them single leg squats (SLS) or pistol squats, but this can be one of the most powerful exercises in your strengthening arsenal. The benefits from this exercise range from strengthening (which not only includes your quads, but your hips) as well as potentially improve your running form. Ready to crush it? More after the jump.

The Who Cares Of Fame?

Why the hell did this guy have a hall of fame vote?

Why the hell did this guy have a hall of fame vote?

The Baseball Hall of Fame voting jumped the shark last year when all the really cool baseball writers went into their baseball writer treehouse and decided that they were going to vote no one in because the ballot was littered with guys who were linked to steroids.  While it was really cool that they did that and they showed everyone and all that they basically made the voting process into a complete farce that no baseball fan will take seriously ever again.   Read the rest of this entry »

Anderson Silva Breaks Leg

The day before UFC 168, MMA fan Tim Reuben tweeted to Anderson Silva wishes of good luck in a phrase filled with irony after the result of the fight.  Take a look at the now infamous tweet (and some responses) after the jump: Read the rest of this entry »

I like to internet.

I like to internet.

Ok we get it, the Mets have stunk for 5 years so you’re broken, sad, angry and don’t know what to do with your life to fill the void. It’s cool, but this in no way means that the best way to go about coping with the failures of this team is to sit home and hate every move the team makes whether it is positive or negative, and while you’re at it hate on other fans of the team for being optimistic or dare I say rational about the situation at hand. The Mets fanbase has become a divided place of logic and sense.   Read the rest of this entry »

More like Thor: The Dark Loki

More like Thor: The Dark Loki

Some minor spoilers and all that (WARNING)

So I decided to do a movie review, because why not? I went to go see Thor: The Dark World last night. The first Thor movie was good but not great, I was largely unimpressed.  I see Thor as a character that can only have so many cool things to do before you’re like “Okay, I am done with this guy.” But I have to say this movie is pretty damn awesome.

As a die-hard New York Islanders fan now located in Charlotte, I was in desperate need of a live hockey fix. With the Carolina Hurricanes nearly three hours away, there had to be a closer option. After only a few seconds on the computer, I found the AHL affiliate of the Hurricanes, the Charlotte Checkers.
