Dustin Brown scored at the 10:26 mark of the second overtime period for the Los Angeles Kings as they won game two of the Stanley Cup Finals 5-4. The New York Rangers blew three two goal leads in this game, and had to roll the dice in overtime. Just after the ice had been cleaned in the middle of the second overtime, Dustin Brown tipped in Willie Mitchell’s shot from out near the blue line, and past Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

Hold on for just a moment. Just an eency weency bit while a pick the remaining fragments of what used to be my skull off the screen of my television. Why does this show do this to us? It builds us up…..it makes us believe there is justice in the world but at the end we are left either feeling despondent or just laughing at our circumstances like Arya Stark after finding out another one of her relatives has died. I can imagine George R. R. Martin gleefully rubbing his hands together as he kills another character that we’ve grown found of. Hell, Oberyn was starting to become one of my favorite characters until the Mountain treated his head like Gallagher would a watermelon. But that’s one of the driving points of the show….life isn’t always fair. A lot of the time, it can be a brutal lesson in teaching you that whatever can happen probably will. That’s what I like to call the Game of Thrones struggle.  Read the rest of this entry »

Somebody say time travel?

Somebody say time travel?

I saw X-Men: Days Of Future Past last night (I hope that’s the last time I have to write out the whole title).  The film is the first comic book movie to use time travel so I guess that’s some sort of milestone that geeks everywhere should be proud of. I thought the movie was great although I didn’t think it was as good as “X-Men: First Class” and actually have a fair amount of complaints about it.  I loved “X-Men: First Class” and “X-Men 2” This film might go right behind them ranking wise although I haven’t seen X 2 in ages so I should probably rewatch so I can better judge the quality of these films because that is what’s important in life.  (Oh yeah, minor spoilers ahead)

Taking a break from Physical Therapy related articles (due to article access issues…), I will be focusing on the World Cup, which will take over my life for the next 30-60 days. Having said that, Jurgen Klinsmann made his 23-man roster available to the press after prior stating he would hold off until June 2nd (the FIFA deadline for 23-man provisional World Cup rosters). As the news blasted all over the internets, many USMNT fans (educated and bandwagoner alike) were left flabbergasted after the announced cuts.

oh, jurgen.

What did the five fingers say to the face? Don’t answer that question.

I apologize for the tardiness this week but how about last night’s episode? I mean, there was a lot that went down but let’s frank. There were only two things that we cared about that happened in the episode:

  1. Khaleesi and dragons!
  2. Tyrion’s farce of a trial at King’s Landing.

Yeah, there were two other storylines but they felt like they were a part of the backdrop to the bigger events in this episode. Stannis getting the backing of the Iron Bank is a nice wrinkle that Tywin and his council will have to worry about. And I’m sure no one cares about the Ramsay Bolton/Reek (Theon Greyjoy) arc. The producers really need to chill with that story line. I don’t think I’ve talked to a single person that cares about it. It’s probably been the the worst park of Game of Thrones since last season.  Read the rest of this entry »

Because no one asked for it……a look at a day in the life of of super agent Scott Boras.  (All of this is completely fictional…probably/hopefully)

Make no bones about it. The Donald Sterling situation is messed up and is a black eye on the league. Thankfully, there is the internet and on the internet, you can make light of anything. That’s why I’ve decided to collect some memes and gifs of the Donald Sterling incident and break down what I liked or disliked about them. Onward, march! Read the rest of this entry »

Awwwwwww, look at that picture of Kyle Lowry brushing the dirt of his shoulder. That dirty that he’s currently brushing off may be any trash spoken to him from Deron Williams or anyone thinking that Deron Williams is in the same tier as him in terms of the best point guards in the NBA. In terms of stats, actual play on the court, and basketball aesthetics, Kyle Lowry has been playing like one of the better point guards in the NBA this season. Last night, he showed it by utterly embarrassing D-Will with the play of the game last night. Read the rest of this entry »

kill the masters

We all have a sense of justice. We all want it in some form or fashion. When we read books and watch movies, we usually root for the good guy for this very reason. Some of us spend time in our lives seeking retribution for the wrongs people may or may not have done to us or other people….even if they are for the most littlest things. This is what the 4th episode of the 4th season of Game of Thrones last night was generally about. Read the rest of this entry »

76ers

Philadelphia 76ers 2013-2014 season has been a struggle. The 76ers only managed to win 19 games, which was the 2nd worst record in all of the NBA. In addition to that, their 63 loss season consisted of a 26 game losing streak. With all the struggles the 76ers had on the court, it came as a surprise to many that 76ers owner Joshua Harris came out and said “I think the season has been a huge success for us.”
