On Saturday, February 23rd, the UFC will debut their Women’s Division live on Pay Per View. If the picture above does not get you excited, I do not know what will. That is Ronda Rousey, and she will fight for the new Women’s Bantamweight Title against Liz Carmouche.

This will be the first Women’s bout in the history of the UFC. In the past, UFC President Dana White had been against women in the octagon, but now he is all on board. “I think that Ronda has the potential to be a big star,” White said. “She’s already getting media that we’ve never even got before and she’s never even set foot in the UFC yet.” Along with the fight this Saturday, the UFC has two other Women’s Division fights scheduled. It appears that the Women of the UFC are here to stay.
White has also talked about the possibility of having the women’s division on the hit reality show, The Ultimate Fighter, but nothing is set in stone. We will just have to wait and see what happens next. I do know one thing, if Dana White finds more women that look like Rousey, people will tune in. I know I will.
