On October 1st, 1961, my wife’s uncle, Sal Durante, made one of the most famous catches in baseball history. He caught New York Yankee’s right fielder Roger Maris’ 61st home run. I’ve told many friends the story and not all of them believed me. His story is an amazing one that everyone should hear.
