In Week 1, Chicago United FC was short-handed and lost a tough fought game to TFAS 0-1. Even though several players were out due to injury in Week 2, Chicago United FC dominated Ship My Pants from start to finish to capture their first win of the season in a 1-0 game.

The lone goal was scored by a ringer, Harrison, who blew several opportunities in the first half but dumped the ball in the corner of the net 4 minutes into the 2nd half. United could have easily scored 4 or 5 more goals in the game, but every shot seemed to be right at the keeper or over the bar. Mangan had a rough game, kicking 2 or 3 should-be-goals directly at the keeper. We’ll attribute the misses to rust as it had been 3 weeks since he even touched a soccer ball. Stand-out players in Week 2 were Amanda Manfredi, CJ Alfirevic, Brier Goetz, and Raquel Schonenberg who each played the entire game.
Next week Chicago United FC takes on Windy City Devils at 8:00PM on Friday, August 23rd. Windy City Devils is also 1-1 on the season and has a history of hard-fought games with Chicago United FC.
