Yesterday U.S.A. Soccer and Nike unveiled a new U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team home kit for 2014. The traditional polo collar with red trim is a classic look. If you look closely, you can also see some grey horizontal pinstripes as well.

According to USA Soccer’s website, “The jersey features a classic white polo shirt collar with red trim. Inside the back of the neck is a blue pennant tab with the 13 stars from the original American flag.” I love the 13 stars tribute. Nothing is more old school than that.
In a statement with USA Soccer and Nike, U.S. Men’s National team captain Clint Dempsey said of the new kits, “It’s always an honor to wear the colors of your country, and this summer we will be hard to miss in an all-white look. We will be traveling all over Brazil, and playing in a lot of different conditions, so the innovative Nike designs will serve us well”.
Heading into World Cup 2014 in Brazil, the USMNT is playing arguably the best soccer it has ever put on the pitch. Now ranked #13 in the FIFA/Coca-Cola rankings, Team USA is a solid World Cup free bet. With favorable odds, but a tough draw, the USA could be a great investment for bettors.

It will be very interesting as to see how the new kits hold up in the extreme climate that Brazil has. According to USA Soccer, the shirt, shorts and socks all feature fabric made from recycled plastic bottles – 100 percent recycled polyester in the shorts, 96 percent recycled polyester in the shirt and 78 percent in the socks. During the World Cup, the US National Team will play a game deep in the Amazon rain forest. It will be very interesting to see how the wicking technology holds up in 90 degree temperatures and 100% humidity.
The U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team kits will be available online starting Wednesday, March 5. The USA kit is currently available in Nike stores and on nike.com for pre-order. I’m sure you will see plenty of these beautiful looking shirts as the countdown to the start of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil this summer.
