will be analyzing and critiquing each pick with the criteria of the song they have chosen. This year each player has chosen his own “theme song” to be played when they are taken. I will be breaking down each song and pick with other reactions through the night! Update: After not being able to hear any of the songs, I just will analyze the draft.

I will continue to update this post throughout the night!
See you at 8pm!

Update 7:38pm- Not sure if I like this lineup announcement of the “top prospects.” It is obnoxious to me.
Update 7:40 pm- Will they be sitting on the stage the entire night? That could make for some awkward moments!

Update 7:47 pm- Here are the guys on stage:
Source: NFL on ESPN Twitter
Update 8:04 pm- What would the NFL do without those season ticket holders sitting in the front row?
Update 8:10 pm- How many times will Mel Kyper’s “Top Available Player” not be picked tonight? I’m thinking at least 5 times.
Update 8:12 pm- Rey Lewis is an “ab man”… take note everyone.
Update 8:15 pm-
#1 Houston Texans Select Jadeveon Clowney (DE-South Carolina)
Can’t hear his song but by far the best player on the board. Great selection. Clowney and Watt will be scary.
Source: NFL on ESPN Twitter
Update 8:22 pm- Now that Clowney is gone, I am very excited to hear about Johnny “Football” Manziel for the rest of the night.
Update 8:25 pm:
#2 St. Louis Rams Select Greg Robinson (OT- Auburn)
Sam Bradford just jumped for joy! Great pick for the Rams, who pick again at #13.
Loved the “what” chants at Goodell. Shout out to all my WWE fans out there.
Update 8:30: The pick is in for the Jaguars…lets see which future-bust they select here! Reports on twitter saying it will be a “Big Surprise.”
Update 8:31:
#3 Jacksonville Jaguars select Blake Bortles (QB- UCF)
Source: FanSided.com
Jaguars taking the local QB out of Central Florida. At 6’5 he is a big boy but knowing the Jaguars’ track record, it wont work out. He can’t be worse than Blaine Gabbert was can he?
Update 8:34 pm- Browns trade the #4 pick to the Bills. Browns acquire the #9 this year, 2015 1st round and 4th round picks.
#4 Buffalo Bills select Sammy Watkins (WR- Clemson)
Bills trade their first round pick next year to get EJ Manuel a true weapon. Should be fun to watch for years to come.
Buffalo Bound
Update 8:40 pm- Todd McShay reporting Mack is a lock to be taken by the Raiders. Would be a great fit.
Update 8:42 pm- McShay is correct.
#5 Oakland Raiders select Kahlil Mack (OLB- Buffalo)
Source: FanSided
The hard hitting Mack will help an already pretty good defense in Oakland. Al Davis would have loved him.
That team needs a world of help on the offensive side of the football, lets see how they attack those problems tomorrow.
Update 8:46 pm- One of the biggest disappointments of the 2013 season, the Atlanta Falcons are now on the clock. Could use a lot of help on both lines.
Update 8:51 pm-
#6 Atlanta Falcons take Jake Matthews (OT- Texas A&M)
Source: FanSided.com
Great fit for Atlanta. Their offensive line was atrocious last year, he certainly should help.
Update 8:58 pm- Jon Gruden REALLY likes Johnny Football.
Update 9:00 pm-
#7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Mike Evans (WR- Texas A&M)
Source: FanSided.com
An emotional moment for Evans. Nice to see how happy he was to be selected.
Vincent Jackson (6’5) and Mike Evans (6’5) will not only make Josh McCown happy, but Madden players as well. The Hail Mary just got much easier when using the Bucs.
Update 9:02 pm- Browns and Vikings swap picks. The Browns now up to #8. Gruden continues to talk Manziel.
Update 9:04 pm- Honesty…when he began with the “J” sound, how many people thought it was Johnny Football?
#8 Cleveland Browns select Justin Gilbert (CB- Oklahoma State)
Source: FanSided.com
Loud boo’s in the arena and Kiper was not happy. Kid is a lock to be a pro-bowler.
Update 9:11 pm-
#9 Minnesota Vikings select Anthony Barr (OLB- UCLA)
Source: FanSided.com
Vikings elect to take the first player not invited to New York City. Hipsters.
Don’t love this pick either, not as high on him as others are.
Update 9:14: Shameless Madden Plug by Barry Sanders, who we can barely see over the podium.
Where is Barry?
#10 Detroit Lions select Eric Ebron (TE- North Carolina)
Source: FanSided.com
Another weapon for Matt Stafford. This kid is a physical specimen and will benefit from the attention given to Calvin Johnson. Pettigrew can do the blocking, could see them running more two TE packages next year.
Update 9:21 pm- Jon Gruden suggests again to take Johnny Football. This is getting old quick.
Update 9:23 pm-
#11 Tennessee Titans select Taylor Lewan (OT- Michigan)
Source: FanSided.com
This guy is an animal. Will help an already good offensive line, providing more help for Jake Locker.
The Titans desperately needed help on the defensive side of the ball. Look for them also to select a running back at some point.
Update 9:30 pm-
#12 New York Giants select Odell Beckham Jr. (WR- LSU)
Source: FanSided.com
Giants ignore their need on the offensive line but add a very talented wide receiver. He should take the place of Hakeem Nicks.
Update 9:33 pm- Johnny Football to the Cowboys is seeming more and more likely, in my humble opinion.
Update 9:37 pm-
Shon Coleman has an amazing story. Great to see the NFL give him this moment.
#13 St. Louis Rams select Aaron Donald (DT- Pittsburgh)
Source: FanSided.com
Rams go offensive line early now defensive line later (though it is still early). Jeff Fisher is one happy camper!
The Rams could be an early sleeper team for next season.
Update 9:44 pm-
#14 Chicago Bears select Kyle Fuller (CB- Virginia Tech)
Source: FanSided.com
Jon Gruden REALLY loves Fuller.
A tough kid, hard hitter, fits very well into a much improved Bears defense.
Update 9:47 pm-
#15 Pittsburgh Steelers take Ryan Shazier (OLB- Ohio State)
Source: FanSided.com
The Steelers have an aging defense, so adding a very quick and versatile line backer is a great move.
Update 9:52 pm- The Cowboys need so much help on defense. They will take Johnny Manziel. Jon Gruden is about to have a heart attack.
Update 9:54 pm
#16 Dallas Cowboys select Zack Martin (OT- Notre Dame)
Source: FanSided.com
Well the Cowboys do not address the defensive side of the football, but you can never have enough offensive lineman.
I thought I had Manziel to Dallas pinned. Disappointed in myself…Jets?
Update 10:00 pm-
#17 Baltimore Ravens select C.J. Mosley (ILB- Alabama)
Source: FanSided.com
Slam dunk pick by the Ravens. You can not replace Ray Lewis of course, but Mosley is a talented football player.
Update 10:05 pm- Will Woody Johnson act like Woody Johnson and take Johnny Football? Oh no, I am becoming Jon Gruden.
Update 10:09 pm-
#18 New York Jets select Calvin Pryor (S- Louisville)
Source: FanSided.com
Rex Ryan drafts defense again. I was thinking Brandin Cooks, would have been a very smart pick.
Pryor fits but was not the biggest need.
Update 10:18 pm-
#19 Miami Dolphins select Ja’Wuan James (OT- Tennessee)
Source: FanSided.com
Ryan Tannehill was sacked far too often last season. Smart move by the Dolphins to address the offensive line here.
Saints have traded up to pick #20, Arizona moves to #27 and 3rd round pick this year.
Update 10:25 pm-
#20 New Orleans Saints select Brandin Cooks (WR- Oregon State)
Source: FanSided.com
Wow! Another fantastic weapon for Drew Brees! Excellent pick here by the Saints.
They could have used help on defense, but I like this pick.
Update 10:34-
#21 Green Bay Packers select Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (S- Alabama)
Source: FanSided.com
Obvious pick here by the Packers. They had a great need in the secondary and this will help fill that.
Packers take back to back 1st round picks from Alabama (Lacy and Clinton-Dix).
Update 10:40 pm- Eagles trade #22 pick to Cleveland Browns
Johnny Cleveland?
Update 10:42 pm-
#22 Cleveland Browns select Johnny Manziel (QB- Texas A&M)
Source: FanSided.com
Manziel did not look happy on the telephone, but we will see if he breaks the streak of QB flops in Cleveland. It will be a lot of fun to watch over the next few years!
We FINALLY no longer have to hear Gruden talk about him every pick.
Update 10:52 pm-
#23 Kansas City Chiefs select Dee Ford (DE- Auburn)
Source: FanSided.com
An already talented defensive team takes another talented defensive player. Yes they blew the lead against the Colts but during the regular season they certainly were not fun to play against.
Update 10:57 pm-
#24 Cincinnati Bengals select Darqueze Denard (CB- Michigan State)
Source: FanSided.com
The Bengals already have a very good defense. Was thinking they could have added another WR here, though Hawkins is a talented #2 receiver. Never could have enough depth on defense.
Update 11:02 pm-
#25 San Diego Chargers select Jason Verrett (CB- TCU)
Sorce: NFL on ESPN Twitter
The Chargers never seem to have a good pass defense (or any defense). It was an easy decision to take a corner here.
Speaking of bad defenses, here come the Eagles at #26.
Update 11:09 pm-
#26 Philadelphia Eagles select Marcus Smith (DE- Louisville)
Source: NFL on ESPN Twitter
The Eagles were obviously taking a defensive player here. Had played some linebacker at Louisville and is versatile. Should help the pass rush. Solid pick here.
Update 11:16 pm-
#27 Arizona Cardinals select Deone Bucannon (S-Washington State)
Source: FanSided.com
A team that was lacking toughness, the Cards take a heavy hitter in Bucannon.
Look for Arizona to maybe trade up for a quarterback tomorrow.
Update 11:18 pm-
#28 Carolina Panthers select Kelvin Benjamin (WR- Florida State)
Source: NFL on ESPN Twitter
Steve Smith is gone, Brendon LaFell is gone and Cam Newton needs someone to pass the football to. Clearly a position of weakness, Benjamin is a logical selection for the Panthers.
Update 11:27 pm-
#29 New England Patriots select Dominique Easley (DE- Florida)
Source: FanSided.com
I was thinking that the Patriots would select a corner or defensive back here to help the pass defense.
Easley has had heath issues in the past, as the Patriots did last year. I should know better to doubt Bill Belichick.
Update 11:33 pm-
#30 San Francisco 49ers select Jimmie Ward (S- Northern Illinois)
Source: FanSided.com
Was not sure where the 49ers would go with this pick.
Ward could play all around the backfield for San Francisco. Apparently can also play corner back, should be useful for Jim Harbaugh.
The Broncos are on deck, would have to think they will be going defense here as well.
Update 11:38 pm-
#31 Denver Broncos select Bradley Roby (CB- Ohio State)
Source: FanSided.com
Roby had a disappointing year last season but the talent is there. The Broncos needed help in the secondary and new addition Aquib Talib should help be a mentor to him and help him mature.
Update 11:42- Vikings move up in trade with Seahawks. Bridgewater coming next?
Update 11:45-
#32 Minnesota Vikings select Teddy Bridgewater (QB- Louisville)
Source: FanSided.com
Bridgewater’s stock has gone up and down all over the place these past few months. His Pro-Day was very underwhelming despite having a phenomenal collegiate career. One thing is certain, Christian Ponder is not the QB of the future in Minnesota, but I am not certain Bridgewater is the correct answer either.
Round One is Done! I hope you enjoyed spending the draft with yours truly!
There will be plenty more story lines to be told tomorrow as people will begin scouting their next fantasy football selections.
