I want to start out this article by informing you that I am NOT a clean shaven guy. I haven’t been in years and nor do I plan to be, ever. I hate the feeling of a clean shaven face and I equally dislike the process of having to look that way. I tend to have scruff or a beard year round but as the summer is nearing, I decided to try a new look for the first time. When given the opportunity (Thanks to everybody at Gillette!) to get a razor to test out, I jumped, and quick.

I have always used Gillette razors as they are a household name but I’ve never gotten any of the more “technologically advanced models”; they don’t get much use! Upon receiving the razor and glancing at the packaging, I was quite skeptical. To be honest, the idea of a moving razor head on your face is horrifying to me and it sounded like cuts galore.
Once I got my station ready (buzzer, hot water, shaving cream, Fusion Proglide with Flexball, towel, aftershave lotion), I was actually a little excited to see what I would look like. The grip of the razor itself was very comfortable and gave me great control. I was temped to try the one stroke shave but seeing as I had a decent amount of scruff left after the beard trim, I kept my distance from any advanced maneuvers. I took my time and got to use the pivoting Flexball on each side of my face and neck.

After a good 7-8 minute shave, I actually felt kind of pampered. Not only was my face smooth, it wasn’t cut, it looked clean but did not get too red, and was very comfortable. A major plus: it was super easy to clean. I would recommend this razor to anybody, especially a gentleman like myself who prefers to keep it grizzly and is looking for a change.
