Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado has had a bit of a tempter against the Oakland A’s. Last night he was slamming the bat at the plate after being struck out, and today in a 10-0 game, Oakland A’s pitcher Fernando Abad threw an inside fastball and brushed him back. After the next pitch, Machado swung extremely late and let go of the bat, which flew all the way out past third baseman Alberto Callaspo. You can see from the GIF and even more clearly in the video, that Machado purposely let the bat go, presumably to try and hit the pitcher.

I hope MLB looks into this. Machado clearly intentionally let the bat go. Even though Abad did go back inside on the next pitch, Using the bat at a weapon is disgraceful.
