he 2016 US election is among us. In the USA, you can’t go a minute on social media without hearing anything about the upcoming election, and the actual voting isn’t going to happen for another nine months! This year we see a combination of candidates like we’ve never seen before. In the right corner, weighing in at around 300 pounds, we have Donald Trump. In the left corner, we see Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The odds at any online sportsbook are pointing strongly towards Trump winning the primary election for the Republicans, so it’s likely he goes up against Hillary Clinton or Sanders (it’s most likely to be Clinton).

Finding the real favorite is something that takes careful thinking and planning. First let’s look at the betting for the Democratic primaries.
There are only two real candidates. Mybookie.ag offers three; Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden. Anyone who’s paying attention to politics knows that Joe Biden stands no chance in this two-horse race. Between Clinton and Sanders, if you ask any young voter, they’ll point you directly to Sanders, but any older democrat will point you in the direction of Hillary Clinton. Despite all the buzz we hear about Sanders, and the recent announcement of him destroying Hillary in the popular vote in New Hampshire, the odds still point to Hillary Clinton winning. To say Sanders never really had a shot is an understatement. Hillary is a huge favorite at -400. Sanders remains at +250, and Biden is at +2200. If you’re going to risk your money, bet on the Browns to win the Super Bowl, not Joe Biden at +2200.

As far as the Republican primaries, there are a lot more candidates on the list, but everyone knows this race is going to come down to one candidate: Donald Trump. Looking at the debate that happened last Saturday, we saw many other candidates look like fools in front of millions of Americans. Jeb Bush was basically assaulted on live TV (at +700), and other candidates like Ted Cruz and Ben Carson looked small in comparison to Trump. Although social media hates the idea of Trump, the vast majority of his voters wouldn’t even use such mediums.
With the actual election, we’ll have to see how things go, but as of right now, the odds are -160 for democrats, and +120 for republicans. It’s safe to say that Trump has already started to dig his own grave, with his statements against Mexico and immigration a few months ago. Hillary has hardly been covered by the national news, where we typically see the outrageous things Trump and Bernie Sanders say. Despite their coverage, it’s widely believed that Hillary Clinton will become the first female president of America. Her odds are the highest at +EV. Keep following the debates and pay close attention to the polls to make the most of the betting on this presidential election. Even if your favorite candidate won’t win, at least you might be able to win some money!
