Total Sports Blog’s “Expert” Week 14 Picks and Fantasy Football Forcast

TotalSportsBlog 13 years ago 5 Min Read

Due to technical difficulties, this will have to be a short and sweet version of Fantasy Football starts and sits, and weekly picks.  Last week’s Fantasy Forecast was abysmal.  The Chiefs were a disaster and the Cassell to Bowe combo was working like they had both contracted syphilis during the course of the week.  Well it turns out that Matt Casell was about to have appendix removed, and was legitimately “sick”.

I went 9-6 last week.  The record creeps up to 75-68-1, but down to 4-7 in Best Bets after the Bears not covering.

Fantasy Football Forecast for Week 14

QB Start:  Phillip Rivers – He’s hot and at home  RESULT: 226 yds 2 TD 1INT

QB Sit:  Ben Roethlisberger – He’s banged up and the weather in Pittsburgh is gonna be awful  RESULT: 258 yds 0 TD 0INT

RB Start: Knowshown Moreno – Arizona is just putrid right now, and with a new coach, the Broncos ma be running the ball more.  RESULT: 81 yds rushing, 5 rec 32 yds, 1 Rushing TD

RB Sit: LeSean McCoy – If there’s one part of the Dallas D that is good, it’s the run D.  Vick will get his yards scrambling, but not McCoy.  RESULT: 149 yds rushing

WR Start: DeSean Jackson – The Dallas pass defense is abysmal.  Mike Jenkins couldn’t cover Betty White.  RESULT: 4 rec 210 yds 1 TD

WR Sit: Larry Fitzgerald – Sorry Larry, but untill the Cards get a real QB in there, you are useless.  RESULT: 6 rec 72 yds

1 PM Eastern

Raiders @ Jags (-4)

Oakland traveling cross country playing at 1 pm?  Remember the Steelers game?  PICK: Jags  RESULT: WIN

Bengals @ Steelers (-8.5)

Cincy keeps finding ways to hang around.  PICK: Bengals  RESULT: LOSS

Pats (-3) @ Chicago

Classic huge Monday Night Football win hangover is on it’s way..along with 15 inches of snow.  PICK: Bears  RESULT: LOSS

Browns @ Bills (-1)

Another slopfest today.  I like Fred Jackson to have a big game.  I like Peyton Hillis to have an even bigger one.  PICK: Browns  RESULT: LOSS

Packers (-6.5) @ Lions

Should be Green Bay -16.5.  BEST BET PICK: Packers  RESULT: LOSS

Falcons (-7.5) @ Panthers

That hook is going to come back and bite you.  PICK: Panthers  RESULT: LOSS

Bucs (-1) @ Skins

The Bucs have their backs against the wall and probably need to win out.  They keep hope alive this week.  PICK: Bucs  RESULT: PUSH

4 PM EASTERN

Rams @ Saints (-9)

The new “Best Show on Turf” shows Bradford and Co. how it’s done.  Petal to the metal.  PICK: Saints  RESULT: WIN

Seahawks @ 49ers (-5)

I will bet against the 49ers every week.  THEY SUCK.  PICK: Seahawks  RESULT: LOSS

Dolphins @ Jets (-5.5)

I look out my window and see a monsoon that is not supposed to stop till tomorrow.  I don’t see how either team is going to score any points.  Hence: Take the points.  PICK: Dolphins  RESULT: WIN

Broncos (-4) @ Cards

There is no worse team in the NFL right now than the Cards.  The Broncos are bad, but the Cards are awful.  PICK: Broncos  RESULT: LOSS

Chiefs @ Chargers (-10)

This line could be higher.  Brodie Croyle is taking over for Matt Cassel this week and it’s going to be a disaster.  Dude is 0-9 in his career.  P. Riv all day.  PICK: Chargers  RESULT: WIN

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Eagles (-3.5) @ Cowboys

Somehow the Cowboys are showing life under Jason Garrett.  They’ve played very well and will continue Sunday night.  I like them to cover, but not win.  PICK: Cowboys  RESULT: WIN

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Ravens (-3) @ Texans

This game really confuses me.  Which means I’ll take the team with the better D.  PICK: Ravens  RESULT: WIN

Giants (-3) @ Vikings

This game was supposed to be played at 1pm on Sunday, but the Metrodome roof collapsed under the weight of the snow from the big storm.  The game has now been moved to Detroit.  So with a crowd of  3,843 I’ll take the Vikes here.  PICK: Vikings  RESULT: LOSS
