This past Tuesday there was a brawl in the game between the Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors (video of the fight after the jump). A handful of players were suspended and fined by the league, including Golden State Guard Klay Thompson, who was hit with a $35,000 fine. Unfortunately, for Thompson, that will not be his only punishment. His parents are also lowering his allowance!

Yes, you heard that right, the 23-year-old Thompson still gets an allowance, well kind of. You see, Klay Thompson does not have control of his money. His checks from the Warriors go straight to his parents, Mycal and Julie Thompson. Mycal, a former 12 season NBA veteran then gives his son money for living expenses, reportedly $3,000 a month for rent and $300 a week for spending money. Which definitely seems a little light for a guy making $2.3 million this season. “He will [find out he’s been fined by us] when he sees that cash envelope show up a little short this week,” Mycal said.
With all the stories you hear about former athletes going completely broke, it is probably a good idea for Klay to give his parents responsibility over his finances. That being said, it is still hilarious knowing that a grown man, making multiple millions a year, still basically receives an allowance from his parents. I wonder if he has a curfew too?
