Michael Vick Named Philadelphia Eagles Starting Quarterback

Ever since Chip Kelly came to the Philadelphia Eagles the number one question facing him was who will be the starting quarterback? Kelly has made his final decision. Michael Vick has been named the starting quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles for the upcoming season

.

Chip Kelly has made the right decision. Michael Vick is the leader of this football team and he showed it. He never questioned the coaching staff during the quarterback competition. He took it as an opportunity to show that he can still be an elite quarterback in the NFL. After completing over 80% percent of his preseason passes and showing flashes of his elite potential, Vick has shown that he has much more left in the tank. Vick gives the Chip Kelly’s offense the best chance to succeed. Although the Chip Kelly offense will not be exactly the same as in Oregon, a mobile quarterback is a key in his offense. Vick is someone who provides mobility, a strong arm, and leadership. This decision will give the Philadelphia Eagles the best chance to win. Under Kelly’s offense, Vick will get the chance to utilize his skills. It almost seems like a perfect fit.

In order for Vick to be successful he will need to avoid two things he has done in the past. Turnovers and injuries. If Vick can stay healthy and cut down the interceptions and fumbles, look for the Eagles offense to have a good season.
