The San Diego Chargers had the privilege of facing the Philadelphia Eagles for the Eagles home opener this season. Now after their playoff win against the Cincinnati Bengals, it looks like they could be distend to win the Superbowl. So the question is, why was it a privilege to face the Eagles? Also, what does destiny have to do with anything?
The Eagles have played a large part in determining the Superbowl winner over the past four years. As history tells us, the last four teams to play in the Eagles home opener went on to win the Superbowl. The New Orleans Saints in 2009, Green Bay Packers in 2010, New York Giants in 2011 and the Baltimore Ravens in 2012.
Will this trend continue? For that we will have to wait and see. The Chargers looked good against the Bengals this Sunday, so don’t be surprised if this streak continues to five. The NFL scheduling committee may have a tough choice to make next season if this streak were to continue
