On tonight’s episode of MTV’s The Challenge Free Agents, “Talk To The Hand”, we start-up with Laurel talking with the guys about the situation with Cara Maria. At the previous elimination challenge, she badly hurt her hand. No one had seen or heard from her since then. “I really don’t care if she stays or not”, says Laurel. Johnny then jumps in and gives her an earful about how she’s a terrible friend for the way she’s treated Cara. The other guys agree, especially CT. This causes Laurel to get defensive and she runs off to her room to cry.

Cara comes back to the house and has a jacket covering her hand and it’s pretty obvious why. CT greets her and goes to pick her up and she clearly turns her body to make sure he doesn’t hit her hand. When she gets up to her room, she reveals she has a pretty big cast on her hand and that she’s got a broken bone in it. Theresa then gets ultra emotional and tells Cara that she shouldn’t have to go home considering she’s already eliminated 3 other girls.
Laurel comes knocking on the door to their room and obviously overhears Cara shit talking her. Maybe it was just an audio effect they put in to make it sound like she could hear her, but whatever. Laurel sits down with Cara and for some bizarre reason, doesn’t apologize for what a moron she was. Instead she’s just checking on her hand. Cara finally stands up to her and tells her she’s sick of being treated like a piece of shit and breaks off their friendship. Cue Laurel’s waterworks.

At tonight’s challenge “Crossover”, each team had one guy and one girl. Each team had to swim/wade/walk across a lagoon and dig out a treasure chest that had puzzle pieces in it. After they were taken out, had to go back to the starting line and drop the pieces off. They then had to repeat that again, but the person who dug the first time, could not dig the second time. After the pieces were recovered, the teams had to go back to the beginning once again, and put the puzzle together. The team who wins, is safe and gets to pick the guy and girl to go into the elimination. Everyone else goes into the draw.
But before all of this could take place, they had to address Cara’s situation. Every time someone gets some sort of injury or sickness, the producers send them home. Cara was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. But by some miracle, the doctors said that as long as she can tolerate the pain, she could compete. Which she chose to do. Good for her. This girl has proven time and time again that she’s tough as nails.

Theresa/Zach flew through the course. They were the best tandem by far. But when it comes to puzzles, running the fastest or being the best swimmer, doesn’t always equal a victory. Nany/Bananas were always a 15 seconds behind, and Cara/CT were not a close third. After everyone made their first drop, it was still the same standings. Cara’s hand really hampered her ability to shovel, but to CT’s credit, he was nothing be supportive and gained a lot of respect for her. Eventually everyone made it back and were all doing the puzzle at the same time. And wouldn’t you know it, the two self-proclaimed “worst” at puzzles, Nany/Bananas, wound up winning. Back at the house, CT continues to praise Cara and feels if he let her down big time. “She just needs a break”, he says to Johnny. Laurel is now back to thinking about what went on with Cara and starts crying about what might happen if they don’t work this out and someone gets eliminated.
Bananas and Nany sit out on the porch and talk about who they are going to vote in to the elimination. Bananas makes the statement that, “Zach is a bigger beast that CT”. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with that yet, until I see Zach actually step it up and perform in a final. CT is still the most feared competitor in this game. He’s on that Albert Pujols career arc. Absolutely unstoppable for like 10 years, then tailed off a tiny bit, but now is back.
Bananas and Nany talk with CT and he says this is like a Job interview. “You wanna poke a stick at the angry bear? Go ahead, that’s not my bag”. I’m not sure what CT was talking about with the “that’s no my bag” line, but I do agree with the not wanting to poke an angry bear.
At the deliberation, Cara is an absolute train wreck. She’s already crying and nothing has gone on yet. Bananas leans over to Nany and tells her, “You can’t make decision based on emotions”. That’s real easy for you to say Bananas. He wants Nany to vote her in, but if I’m Nany, I want Cara in the final with that broken hand. It’s the right strategy to NOT vote her in and send in Theresa or Devyn. When TJ arrives, both of them vote in CT. When it’s time for the girls vote, they’re split with Cara and Theresa. TJ asks again since they need to break the tie. Both of them dig in again. After the second split vote, TJ informs Bananas and Nany that if they don’t change their vote, both of them will go into the elimination and CT will sit down. Nany then picks Cara. When Cara goes up to be with CT, her and Theresa get into it and lots of yelling goes on.

At the Draw, it’s Devyn vs Laurel and Leroy vs Johnny. Leroy pulls the kill card for the guys and Laurel gets it for the girls after Devyn pulls a blank. We have CT vs Leroy and Cara vs Laurel. You couldn’t have scripted this any better for the girls, and Leroy vs CT is a great match-up as well.

Due to the impossible task of keeping the actual elimination challenge game out of the view of the camera, you see that the game is going to be Wrecking Wall. I have no idea in the world how Cara is going to even be able to compete in this challenge, let alone win it. But, we will have to wait until next week to find out what happens.
