While the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series hasn’t concluded yet, NASCAR took the time on Tuesday to release next year’s slate, which include the debut of all new cars beginning with the Daytona 500 on February 24th. All 23 tracks from the 2012 schedule, yes including Kentucky Speedway, will be back in ’13.

Coming to a track near you in 2013 is the new look of cars, the Chevrolet SS, Ford Fusion, and Toyota Camry. These cars will have a racy stance but will have a more recognizable body style o their street-model counterparts.
“The new NASCAR Sprint Cup cars for next season have dominated fan conversation for more than a year, and the time is approaching to unleash them on the race track,” said Brian France, NASCAR chairman and CEO, in a statement. “Next year’s schedule again will offer a strong mix of challenges for our talented drivers, and we believe fans will continue to enjoy what they’ve come to expect – the most exciting and competitive racing in the world.”

There is no significant changes to the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule, but the switch between Talladega Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway during the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Talladega will return to its traditional spot, number 6 in the Chase. As you may recall the two tracks switched dates because of Kansas Speedway’s repave project, which has been completed.
If you were Brian France, would you have changed anything on the schedule?
