FOXSports.com senior baseball writer Ken Rosenthal has tweeted out the names of the players who have accepted 50 game suspensions due to the Biogenesis investigation. New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was not on the list that Rosenthal tweeted out because he apparently will appeal the decision.

**UPDATE**

BREAKING: Alex Rodriguez will be suspended through end of 2014 season. He will be allowed to play until appeal is heard. (via @TJQuinnESPN)

The “official” release of all the players suspended is do to be out at 3pm ET.

Former All-Stars and current scrubs are on the list. Among the surprise names on the list was New York Mets AAA player Jordany Valdespin. The man who declared last year that “I’m the man right now”, is now “the man” alright. The man with a 50 game suspension attached to his name.

Among players accepting 50-game suspensions: #Rangers’ Cruz, #Tigers’ Peralta, #Phlllies’ Bastardo, #Mets’ Valdespin, #Padres’ Cabrera.

Also suspended: #Yankees’ Cervelli, #Mariners’ Montero, #Mets’ Puello, #Astros’ Escalona, #Padres’ De Los Santos, #Yankees’ F. Martinez. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) August 5, 2013

Free-agent pitcher Jordan Norberto also among suspensions. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) August 5, 2013

Colon, Grandal, Melky get no additional discipline. No violations found for #Nationals’ Gio Gonzalez. #Orioles’ Valencia. They are clear.

For all the SABR nerds, or for people who know what advanced metrics are, Jeff Passan shed some more light on the suspensions.

Biogenesis suspensions by WAR: Peralta (3.7), Cabrera (3.0), Cruz (1.5), Cervelli (0.7), Bastardo (0.6), Valdespin (-0.3), Montero (-0.5).
