MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals 2 Episode 5 “What The Phuket?!” Review, Reaction, and Fantasy Scoring

and it reared its ugly head tonight on MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals 2.

What would an episode of The Challenge be without an opening scene involving a hookup? Tonight’s participants: Leroy and Theresa. These two were going at it like rabbits. They were so hot and heavy that the windows outside the room were steaming up. But this turned out to not be the biggest problem. Wes so happened to be in the bunk on the bottom of where they were banging. Real classy guys, seriously. Wes and Theresa have a little bit of history of hooking up back in the day on The Challenge. Wes made enough of a spectacle that everyone noticed how much it was bothering him, so naturally everyone picked on him.

Wes picked up his stuff and moved it all to another room cause he’s a crybaby. So when he left, a bunch of housemates took stuff from around the room to create a stick figure “Wes”, and laid it on the boxspring of the bottom bunk. To add insult to injury, they took a sharpie and hashtagged the hell out of the mattres with things like #112Pounds and #LowSelfEsteem. It was damn funny and I’m sorry Wes, but you are getting tagged for negative points cause you got served.

Coming back from a commercial, we get to see a little bit of the sensitive side of Zach. He’s on the phone and crying. At first I was thinking that we were going to have another team have to leave because of a sick parent or sibling. But, it turned out to be the exact opposite. Zach just found out that he just became an uncle for the first time. He was ultra emotional from the good news, but was also distraught from not being there for the birth. This somehow turned into him going onto the couch and moaning like a little girl about his tummy hurting. Then when Frank, his friend, suggests to him that maybe its just the the feeling of not being able to be there, he snaps at him and then everyone else. Over the next 10 minutes, he’s just cursing out everyone with F-Bomb after F-Bomb and breaking things off camera. It was just an ultra bizarre situation all together. Luckily there was an elimination challenge to get to.

MTV Zach cry

“Frog Smash” was the name of the game tonight. As always, suspended 30 feet above water, there’s a balance beam and these huge bean bags. Each beanbag had one of of your opponents sitting in it. As a team walks across the beam, the opponents would pull a rip cord, sending them flying across the beam, trying to hit the person crossing. The fastest team would be the winner. This was the type of game that allowed certain teams to manipulate the game to keep someone in or out. Tonight was the guys turn for the Jungle. The girls went first and for some reason they just let Jasmine and Theresa win. I didn’t get it, but whatever. I guess it was a charity move. Maybe I have to watch the episode again? As for the guys, this is where it got interesting. Johnny breaks a pact when he decides to not to swing when he was supposed to, and that effects Zach and Trey because Trey got SMOKED and knocked in the water before anyone. So that essentially locked in Zach and Trey to go into the Jungle. CT and Wes won because no one swung when they went across. Nothing exciting, sorry.

When everyone gets back to the house, Wes tries to convince Diem that she should vote for Leroy and Ty because he’s butthurt over Leroy smashing Theresa right in his face. She seems like she’s on board, but doesn’t give a definite answer. So…Theresa and Jasmine decide that they were going to “throw away” their vote for voting for a team that no one is going to vote for. So they choose Leroy and Ty. Hmmm, a bizarre choice, but OK. Leroy glares over at Theresa and gives her the “Da Fuck?!?” look. So long story short, when it gets to Diem and Aneesa Ty and Leroy have 2 votes, and one more will put them in. Diem sticks to her guns and picks Leroy and Ty. Wes giggles like a school girl as Theresa and Jasmine screw up and wind up sending Ty and Leroy into the Jungle by “accident”. What idiots.

In the Jungle…”Breaking On Through” is the name of the game. Each team stands at the top of a platform and must break through the floor of three different levels and then smash the locks off the 4th door on the ground and ring the bell on the other side. Each partner must alternate breaking through the floors. So the first person breaking the floor on the first floor will also break the third floor and the person breaking through the second floor will also break through the door at the bottom. this was a cool Jungle. The first level was sheet rock and both teams got though easily. The second floor was chain links, which Zach and Trey flew through. The 3rd floor was glass, which was a breeze again for Zach and Trey. As they struggles to get the door open, Leroy and Ty gained ground and were trying to break through the door at the same time. But, too little too late and Zach and Trey busted through to ring the bell. In the midst of the celebration of their victory, Zach decided this would be a great time to take his helmet off and throw it like a rocket out of a rocket launcher, up at the platform where everyone was standing, and drills Jordan in the back as he’s ducking to take cover. Classy move Zach, you fucking moron.

Sorry Leroy and Ty, but this DOES NOT end your time here in Thailand. Huh? Well it turns out that Zach broke through the sheet rock on the first level and then also cut the chains on the second level. That’s a no-no and a DQ buddy! Waaa Waaa Waaaaaaah! See you later! Karma is a bitch, bro.
