The people at Heavy Hydration saw the need for affordable, eco-friendly hydration products to reduce the use of plastic bottles, and decided to do something about it. They created a line of hydration packs and stainless steel water bottles that can be used over and over again. They sent me one of their 24oz stainless steel bottles to try out, and here’s what I think:

The Heavy Hydration 24oz black stainless steel water bottle looks cool, but does have its design flaws. For one, it’s black, and becomes hot to the touch when left out in the sun for an extended period of time. The caribiner is a non-weightbearing made in China clip that serves little purpose for what I’d use it for, and the carry handle is too small for my manly sausage fingers (couldn’t get past the knuckle on anything but my pinky). If you’re into reducing your carbon footprint and saving the world from landfills overflowing with plastic bottles, and a stainless steel water bottle is up your alley, www.heavyhydration.com is worth a look while you shop around for the right hydration product for you.

As you can see from the above video, the founders of Heavy Hydration are serious about making a positive impact on the ecosystem. They encourage you to reuse their hydration products instead of going through plastic water bottle after plastic water bottle. I dig their mission, and as someone who drinks 3-5 bottles of water a day while I’m at work, I could probably use a product like this.
Our Stainless Steel Water Bottle is a single-walled, BPA Free, 24 ounce (709mL), reusable container. Finished in a matte black, and featuring our Heavy Hydration Water Hippo. Great for cutting down on the use of paper or plastic containers, as well as keeping a cool, refreshing drink cold for those long work outs. It will never rust, is kid friendly, and dishwasher safe!

I do have a Brita water filter at home, as my girlfriend insisted I change my eco-unfriendly ways at least a little bit. One thing I really like about the Heavy Hydration 24oz black stainless steel water bottle is the extra wide opening which makes pouring water from the Brita jug and dropping in ice cubes very easy. The fact that this thing is dishwasher safe is clutch, as ain’t nobody got time for hand washing their hydration products.
The cap has a nice look to it and functions properly. You can turn the bottle upside down and your beverage won’t leak out at all. Personally I decided to ditch the straw, as I prefer to drink my water like I’m chugging it out of a bottle, but if sipping is your forte by all means keep that straw in there and go to town. I found the caribiner to be more of an annoyance than an asset, so I ditched that too. I just wished the handle was a little bit wider, as like I said in my quick review, I couldn’t fit my finger all the way in the hole (no that’s what she said jokes, please).
As you can see from the photos, the Heavy Hydration 24oz black stainless steel water bottle looks cool. The water droplet with the hippopotamus inside is a dope logo. I saw on their website that they offer 25oz water bottles in lighter colors, which makes much more sense to me. Black attracts sunlight, and Heavy Hydration should keep in mind that people like their drinks cold. I doubt the light blue 25oz bottle would have been as hot to the touch as this one when I brought it poolside the other day.
Heavy Hydration sells the 24oz black stainless steel water bottle for $11.99, which is a decent price when you realize shipping is free. While they had a brown colored hydration pack sitting on the table in their YouTube video, they must have updated their products since filming because they are now selling a cool blue one for $35, which is a very competitive price. The founders of this company are good people, and if you’re in the market for such items you should really consider their products.
