Trevor Bayne Claims Pole for Food City 250

Ford driver, Trevor Bayne, who is making his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start since March led Friday morning’s practice session that lasted almost three hours at Bristol Motor Speedway and later in the day was able to capture the Coors Light Pole Award for the 31st Annual Food City 250. Bayne, who is running a “We Back Pat” paint scheme to help raise awareness for the Pat Summitt Foundation’s fight against Alzheimer’s disease, was the last car to go out in Nationwide Series qualifying. Bayne knocked Joey Logano off the pole with a qualifying speed of 121.190mph, 15.833 seconds. This is Bayne’s fifth career NASCAR Nationwide pole.

Coverage for the Food City 250 begins at 7:00pm EST on ESPN with the NASCAR Countdown show.
