NASCAR Nationwide Series regular, Brian Vickers, scored an impressive victory on Sunday afternoon at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and sent a message to the Sprint Cup Series that he deserves a full-time ride in 2014.

Vickers, who hasn’t won in the Sprint Cup series in nearly four yeas, played the perfect strategy and was able to take the lead from Tony Stewart and held on to end a 75 race winless streak that dated back to Michigan International Speedway in August 2009.
The win was Vickers’ third career victory, who is splitting the No. 55 Toyota Camry this season with Mark Martin at Michael Waltrip Racing. As you may recall, Vickers missed most of the 2010 season with blood clots that required heart surgery and lost his full-time ride when Red Bull Racing closed after the 2011 season.

“(The last few years) couldn’t have been filled with more trials and tribulations. I had so much support from friends and family,” Vickers said. “… Thank god for the opportunity, for Michael (Waltrip) and (crew chief) Rodney (Childers) giving me the chance. It just feels incredible to be standing here celebrating right now.
Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Tony Stewart, would run out of fuel on the penultimate lap and finish 26th.

Kurt Busch, who had one of the best cars of the day, saw yet another win slip away when he was involved in a wreck on Lap 225. Busch had lead more than 100 laps, but spun during a battle for position with Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth.
The Camping World RV Sales 301 had a total of eight cautions, four of which were for debris.
The next race for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is Sunday, July 21st from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
