The Finals are about to begin on MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals 2. But first we need another girls team.

We left off last week with Aneesa and Diem getting ready to face Camila and Jemmye in “Hanging By A Thread”. The outcome of this Jungle will determine who is going to the Finals. To be honest, I was rooting for Jemmye and Camila form the onset due to the fact that Diem and Aneesa are a complete waste of a team and have done absolutely NOTHING to deserve a spot in the finals.
When the whistle blew, they all hung upside down with their tiny hack saws, sawing away frantically…except for Diem. She couldn’t reach the rope. Immediate laughter from this guy right here. How can you not reach the rope Diem? Camila is like 5-1 and had no problem reaching. Eventually Diem reaches the rope as Camila and Jemmye are just tearing through theirs. After everyone yelling at Diem to do something in stead of barely skimming the rope with her saw, she decides to finally listen to Johnny as he tells her to stick her saw between the two ropes so that Aneesa can grab one and had it to her. This might be the first instance of someone in a Jungle actually listening to the right person yelling at them. Unfortunately for Aneesa and Diem, Camila and Jemmye just tear through the ropes and right to the finals. This wasn’t even a contest. Thanks for showing up Aneesa and you can stop the crying now. Buh bye now.
Everyone heads back to the house and there’s nothing but a whirlwind of emotion. First off there’s elation, then a deep breath, then panic sets in. Err Muh Gawd…where’s the final going to be?!?!? Is it here in Thialand? Is it in some freezing cold place? Cause I hate the freezing cold. Holy shit I hope there’s no swimming, cause I can’t swim. What if it’s in space? I can’t breathe in space. Emily is afraid of a long distance run, Paula hates the cold, and Cooke knows they are screwed if swimming is involved because Cara Maria can’t swim. Ok we now have all of that out of the way…

Johnny gets the text from TJ. They’re going to…TOKYO!!! Immediately Wes starts shining like the little bitch that he is. He starts rambling on with something like, “We’ve been training for 6 months for the heat here and now it’s for nothing? Now it’s just a crap shoot. The playing field is now level. I don’t want that.” Pipe down Wes. We all know you are going to need CT to carry your ass to the finish line just like Kenny tried to do a few challenges ago. The next freak out candidate is Paula. She’s panicking about being in a huge city and needing to so a scavenger hunt. Apparently she’s terrible with directions or something. CT makes a great sports analogy in one of those tiny interviews. “I don’t wan to be the Dan Marino of Challenge. He was a great quarterback but never won a Super Bowl. I wanna be Tom Brady”. Well said my friend.
So they all pack up and get into the bus that’s headed for the airport. Johnny starts telling some story that I literally just tuned out because there are two mysterious vans that are driving by and eventually cut the bus off. Out jump 3 dudes dressed as ninjas. They board the bus and one removes his hood. If you couldn’t tell it was TJ by those eyebrows, then you haven’t been watching carefully enough. “Things have changed”, says TJ. Everyone gets black bags over their heads and twist ties on their hands. They are led to another van, with guys in one and girls in the other. These vans take them to a dock with TJ. There he lets them know that their finals start now. ERR MUH GAWD!!!!!

They are taken out into a small island chain where they will have to swim one mile to “Dream Island”. When they get to Dream Island, each team will have one hour to complete a puzzle. After putting giant Tetris pieces together in the shapes of a cube, cross, and horseshoe, they are to take a kayak back out in the water. The first two guys and girls teams to reach the super yacht that is out in the water, will advance to the second day. The two last place teams go home and split $15k.
The girls go first and get a few minutes head start. As expected Cara Maria struggles mightily with the swim, which leads them to reaching the island last. Paula and Emily and Camila and Jemmye essentially arrive at the same time. As for the guys, Jordan and Marlon pull up the rear as expected as well. Marlon is just a terrible swimmer and it showed. Wes and CT got to the island first, and Johnny and Frank got there 45 seconds ahead for Marlon and Jordan.
With these puzzles, I really don’t think there’s any advantage or disadvantage for any team. It’s probably 95% luck. And wouldn’t it figure that CT and Wes rip though the puzzle like it’s nothing. They head right out and join TJ on the yacht in lightning speed. Who would have thought that with starting later than any of the girls teams, that Cara Maria and Cooke were the first team done as well. So this leaves Camila and Jemmye vs Paula and Emily for the girls, and Johnny and Frank vs Jordan and Marlon for the guys. THANK GOD Paula and Emily get their shit together and finish first. They are the best team and deserve the chance to win $125k. Camila cries and walks into the water for some dramatic scene. I’ll miss you Camila. Eh, actually I won’t. This leaves us with the guys. Neither of the teams are going to finish in the hour time limit. Jordan knows that Johnny and Frank will have a bit if a head start, so him and Marlon need to be fast as hell getting the kayak into the water. Johnny and Frank take off for the water and don’t seem to have the smoothest entry. They are only about 200 ft into the water as Jordan and Marlon hit the water. There is a decent chance Jordan and Marlon can catch Frank and Johnny. But then…SPLASH!!! One of the kayak’s overturn and dudes are in the water. Who’s kayak was it? We will just have to wait until next week.
