England world cup

There has been a bunch of buzz surrounding the World Cup draw that took place last week.  Some nations got easy draws, some didn’t. England is one of those nations who didn’t. Our friends at have created a solid infographic focusing on England, and how they have fared in previous World Cups and their opponents in group D.

mike-shanahanGary Kubiak head coach of the Houston Texans, was the first can to get shot down this 2013 season and something tells me he will not be the last.

Things look to be turning a sour turn for Washington Redskins’ head coach, Mike Shanahan.

As if the latest ESPN reporter wasn’t enough of a red flag, the fact that the Redskins are 3-10 and won’t have a first round draft pick pretty much sums up Shanahan’s season and state with the team.  Read the rest of this entry »

Prater 64 yds

You know it was going to happen soon.  Kickers are getting better and better each year.  Matt Prater of the Denver Broncos just set the NFL record for the longest field goal ever made at 64 yards.  The kick came just as time expired during the first half against the Tennessee Titans.

The previous record was 63 yards. Four kickers had accomplished it: Tom Dempsey (1970), Jason Elam (1998), Sebastian Janikowski (2011), and David Akers (2012).

Brazill TD

If there was ever an example of how bad tackling in the NFL has become, all you have to do is check out this TD catch by Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill.  He catches a short slant over the middle from Andrew Luck and goes through SIX Cincinnati Bengals players on his way into the endzone.

Good luck in selling this one to a Hollywood producer. Nobody would buy it.

As the Auburn Tigers celebrated its improbable SEC championship Saturday night, amid the confetti failing from the Georgia Dome, the players and coaches did their best to put into perspective one of the most stunning turnarounds in college football history.

Auburn’s season can be summed up in one word…MAGICAL! First it was the hiring of Gus Malzhan in the offseason, then came The Catch from the UGA-AU game, and then came The Kick from last weekend’s Iron Bowl verse Alabama. There is only one more thing in Auburn’s way to make this 2013 season even more magical, to win the BCS National Title.  Read the rest of this entry »

shump hat
The New York Knicks are one of the worst teams in the NBA. But luckily for them, the Atlantic Division is the worst division in professional sports. Knicks guard Iman Shumpert, was interviewed in the locker room after their 121-83 drubbing of the Orlando Magic last night. WHILE WEARING A GRILL. Yes, a grill. Something that hasn’t been popular in like 5 years. Aside from the ridiculous grill, did he steal that hat from Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation video?

Lima 1
Millions of eyes around the world were fixated on the 2014 World Cup draw yesterday. As always, the host country incorporates some of their most famous citizens to show national pride, and beauty. You may remember in 2010, Actress Charlize Theron was on hand to help with the South African draw. This year would be no different as Brazil chose the beautiful Fernanda Lima to help with the presentation. Within minutes of the selection show starting, Lima was trending worldwide on twitter. From the gallery below, we can see why.

Due to the Jameis Winston news on Thursday afternoon, ESPN was forced to cancel Ron Burgundy hosting SportsCenter and opted into releasing the full uncensored interview with Denver Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning.

This interview between the two severely tested the future NFL Hall of Famer’s laugh containment.  The reactions from Manning maybe almost as funny as Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy.

After the jump, see for yourself. Read the rest of this entry »

A year ago today, Georgia was supposed to be the team to beat Alabama. They got three-quarters of the way there, but a gaffe at the end of the season ended their hopes.  Don’t worry Georgia, Alabama can relate.   A gaffe at the end of their game last week against Auburn, cost them the game and another Championship.

What happens in Vegas doesn’t necessarily stay in Vegas with the advances of social media.

2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Jimmie Johnson will definitely not forget his time in Las Vegas during championship week thanks to some crafty ideas from his  staff.

On Monday, Johnson sent out a tweet referencing The Hangover and the responses from the fans were hilarious. Johnson says, “My office is out here – they traveled with me on Monday – and before I knew it, I came back to my room and there was a stuffed tiger, a little chicken, a baby, little outfits for the baby, a carrier, the whole thing. It was like, hey, we could have some fun with this.”

After the jump, check out some of  Johnson’s photos:
