Johny Hendricks Defeats Robbie Lawler To Win The Welterweight Championship At UFC 171

Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler slugged it out for 5 great rounds at UFC 171 for the Welterweight Championship. When I say slugged it out, I literally mean that they stood toe to toe and wailed away at each other for 25 straight minutes. At the end of 25 minutes, Hendricks won by a close unanimous decision.

The first few rounds went to Hendricks, but the tide clearly turned in the 3rd and 4th rounds with Lawler looking like he was going to knock out Hendricks in the 4th. Somehow Hendricks wethered the storm and grinded out the victory on the 5th.
