Robinson Cano has named his price and it’s an expensive one. Earlier this morning it was reported the Cano wants a 10 year deal worth $305 million. After leaving super agent Scott Boras, Cano recently signed on with Roc Nation, which is an agency run by rap artist Jay-Z. It looks like Jay-Z and company are looking for some big bucks for the best second baseman in baseball.

With this report coming out, the New York Yankees are in some trouble. They are not in the best financial situation and on top of that their core group of players are aging fast. The Yankees still have a significant portion of Alex Rodriguez contract to pay, which runs through 2017. Rodriguez is not only expensive, but his play is not where it use to be. He hits like an average 3rd baseman and his glove at third base is also average. The captain, Derek Jeter, has an uncertain future. He is getting older and was injured most of this past season. The Yankees roster is old, depleted and now has to deal with the loss of Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte.

So what does this mean for the Yankees and Robinson Cano? It very well could mean the end. The last time the Yankees signed a long term deal like this it was with Alex Rodriguez and they don’t want the same result with Cano. The Yankees have also seen the likes of Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton sign huge contracts and so far both are not producing they way they should. I don’t believe that the Yankees will want to sign Cano for that type of money. On the bright side for the Yankees, Cano loves this team and the city, but unless Cano lowers his asking price I see an end to this relationship. Cano wants money and a team with young talent and a strong core of players, which the Yankees do not have. Look for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs to compete against the Yankees in the Robinson Cano sweepstakes.

The two decided have come out with a Public Service Announcement(PSA) in the overuse of them.

They’ve taken a normal conversation and littered it with a taxonomical phrases following that little character you get by pressing shift 3 or tapping 123 and then #+= or just holding down the S key. Sometimes Android users have it so much easier.

MTV Challenge Cara Maria Puking

Welcome to the second and final leg of the finals for MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals 2

We left off last week with Frank and Johnny paddling towards the yacht with Marlon and Jordan close behind. Right at the end of the last episode, we saw one of the kayaks tip over and the two competitors fell into the water. I watched it a few times and couldn’t exactly figure out who it was. I was pretty torn between which team I was hoping it was. If you read this recap every week, you know that I have the rookies in the Fantasy Scoring portion. But I also thought that Johnny and Frank would put up a better fight in the finals.

The episode starts off with some drama in the Galang tribe. After acting kind and generous the first few days, Colton has returned back to his old ways. He has begun to stir up drama around the camp. He is aggressively confronting tribe members about words they’ve said and he is also bullying them. Tyson and the rest of the members of the tribe are beginning to realize that Colton is quickly becoming a cancer and may be the next one to go. As Galang is dealing with their “drama king,” the Tadhana tribe members are trying to keep themselves together after a tough loss at the immunity challenge.

Benches cleared in the Atlanta Braves vs Milwaukee Brewers game tonight after Carlos Gomez blasted a 1st inning home run off of Braves pitcher Paul Maholm.  Gomez has been plunked twice in 21 plate appearances vs Maholm, so he took his time admiring his dinger after spiking his bat and spitting towards the mound.  Brian McCann and the rest of the Braves didn’t take too kindly to that.  Check out the video after the jump: Read the rest of this entry »

Raiders Broncos Football.JPEG-0fbdb

It shouldn’t be a surprise to many that teams like the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks have completely dominated opponents thus far but sleepers like the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs have bursted onto the scene in a hurry. Peyton Manning is quite possibly the best he’s ever been and has the tools to win big. Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers have struggled far more than expected. Drew Brees is back to Jesus-like form…Breesus.

Colin Kaepernick has had a rough start to the 2013 NFL season.  After looking great in Week 1 vs the Packers, the 49ers have fallen to 1-2 after losses to a very solid Seattle Seahawks team and an up-and-coming Indianapolis Colts team.  Fantasy managers and general haters alike have been letting Colin Kaepernick hear it on twitter for the past two weeks, and he’s noticed.  Check out some of the hate that’s been thrown Kaep’s way: Read the rest of this entry »

The WTF Sports Rundown

The NFL season has been crazier than Miley Cyrus so far.

The NFL season has been crazier than Miley Cyrus so far.

I don’t know if I can handle living in a world where both the Giants and the Steelers have started off 0-3.  I don’t give a crap about the Steelers but the Giants are my team.  While I did not have high hopes for this season (I predicted they would go 8-8), I did not expect them to start 0-3 and not only lose to the Panthers but lose 38-0? What the hell was that? Read the rest of this entry »
