After knocking off the UNC Tarheels to advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, Iowa State Coach Fred Hoiberg broke it down in the locker room… sorta. Read the rest of this entry »

Morgan Miller 4
If you were watching today’s NCAA tournament game between the University of Dayton  and Syracuse, you may have noticed a beautiful woman behind the Dayton bench that was getting a lot of face time.  That was Morgan Miller, wife of Dayton coach Archie Miller.  She was sporting a solid “Miller High Life” shirt that was altered to say “Dayton” High Life. Pretty clever.

There aren’t may picture of her floating around on the web other than a few from her twitter account and some other random screen caps. Either way, check em out and hopefully Dayton’s Cinderella run can continue.

Last night Earl, Jon and Matt jumped around from NCAA March Madness, to the New York Mets possibly being linked to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ DiDi Gregorious, the New York Knicks, and the Brooklyn Nets.

I received an email today from FitBit stating that the FitBit Force, which I purchased back in November and was a big fan of, has been recalled.  Here is the statement sent out by FitBit: Read the rest of this entry »

We had a great show and great calls last night. The hour just flew by. We we joined by JB (@therealhoov) from The Happy Recap podcast for 15 minutes talking about spring training, some of the injuries, and his thoughts on the short stop situation. As always, we had a solid call, from @xTomatoez, @AdamMets was a “third time caller”, and a new caller @panselmo93 asked out possible trades with the A’s.

Who are you calling a Chinaman!?

Who are you calling a Chinaman!?

Last week, Earl wrote about the big outrage involving the Mets’ pitching coach Dan Warthen who made an admittedly stupid joke about Daisuke Matsuzaka’s interpreter. If you didn’t catch Earl’s piece, both the interpreter and Matsuzaka are Japanese by the way, and the joke involved the word “Chinaman”.  The next day Warthen was caught in the act of apologizing about the stupid joke by a reporter from the Wall Street Journal named Stu Woo. Woo is of course Chinese and took a massive amount of offense to hearing the word “Chinaman” even though it was being said in relation to an apology.

Now you see them, next week you won’t

If you told me I was going to see 2 little girls get offed in one episode this season, I’d assume it’d be the finale.  Nope.  See those 2 little girls in the pic above?  They’re gone… and Carol had to pop one herself.  Damn.  Season 4 Episode 14 is easily the most controversial Walking Dead episode of all time. 2 weeks ago, SMU was ranked 18th in the nation and seemed destined for their first trip to the NCAA tournament in over 20 years.  After ending the season on a 3 game losing streak, though, Larry Brown’s squad will have to settle for the NIT.  They’re the only real snub I see not in the tournament this year.  Some will say Green Bay at 24-6 deserved an at-large bid, but they didn’t really beat anyone worth talking about all year.

Looking at the brackets, it’s possible we’ll see a 9 seed in the Final Four.  Here is my list of the probable Cinderella’s in this years NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament: Read the rest of this entry »

Hendricks Knee
Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler slugged it out for 5 great rounds at UFC 171 for the Welterweight Championship. When I say slugged it out, I literally mean that they stood toe to toe and wailed away at each other for 25 straight minutes. At the end of 25 minutes, Hendricks won by a close unanimous decision.

The first few rounds went to Hendricks, but the tide clearly turned in the 3rd and 4th rounds with Lawler looking like he was going to knock out Hendricks in the 4th. Somehow Hendricks wethered the storm and grinded out the victory on the 5th.

Check out the highlights after the jump.

woodley kick condit
Tyron Woodley TKO’d Carlos Condit at 2:00 of the 2nd round of UFC 171 after a big kick. Woodley landed a hard leg kick to Condit’s left leg, and while landing back on his right leg, it just blew out. Hopefully Condit’s injury isn’t too severe, but as you can see in the GIF, it doesn’t look good.

Check out the GIF after the jump.
